THE BIGGEST LOSERS –– THE
REAL REALITY SHOW
Vol. 1 Issue 2
The republicans were not the only losers
in the 2006 election. There was another
group that went down in flames with them.
The only reason this group lost is that the
Republicans were defeated. Had the Senate
and House stayed status-quo this group would
have stood to make millions.
They are the Lawyers that were standing
in the wings. The lawyers hired by the
Democrats in the event they lost. The had
their staffs working overtime waiting to
file subpoenas to inspect the voting
machines, ballot boxes and anything else
they could use to claim that the Republicans
stole the election just like they claimed
they did in 2000 and 2004. (There was no
proof of that in those elections.) Why did I
not hear terms like disenfranchised and
voter fraud being bantered about this time
around? Because the only dictionary that
carries those words has Left written all
over it and they do not pull it off the
shelf if they are victorious.
Where were the three stooges, Al Gore,
Michael Moore and George Soros in all of
this? They were probably sitting back
waiting for the results. Al with his
screaming rhetoric about how the Grinch
Stole Christmas, Michael with his camera
ready to film another misleading and
vitriolic film about the Grinch and George
with his checkbook in hand to pay for all
the attorneys to prove the Grinch is real.
My condolences to the legal profession.
Here is how the Republican Party handles
defeat. They just walk away realizing that
politics is like sports there are losers and
winners. This was not their time to win.
Therefore, what are they going to do? You
will not see them in the locker room with
their crying towels. They will regroup,
analyze where they went wrong and come back
to fight another day. The have conducted
themselves without vitriolic, false and
disingenuous rhetoric. They will silently
regroup and figure out where they went
wrong.
During the 2004 race, John Kerry lost
Ohio by well over 100,000 votes. He went
down kicking and screaming, “Ohio was
fixed.” In Virginia Sen. George Allen only
lost by about 9,300 votes, I have not heard
him screaming foul. Neither did incumbent
Sen. Conrad Burns in Montana a big red state
where the senate seat is going to go to
Democrat Jon Tester who won by a slim margin
of 2,800 votes.
The Virginia race was decided by absentee
ballots. You did not see Sen. Allen suing to
keep the absentee ballots out of the race
the way the Democrats did in Florida 2000,
because the military ballots did not have a
dated post-mark on them. It was a sad day in
America, when the Democrats wanted to take
away the right to vote from our brave men
and women who were training that some day
they would give their lives to protect that
right. What they did not know at the time is
that one-year later they would be doing what
they were training to do. What were the
Democrats going to do with those ballots
anyway, throw them in the garbage?
You did not see Sen. Burns engaging an
army of lawyers to protest the election in
Montana. What you did hear the Republicans
saying to quote the Gubernator, is “We’ll be
back.”
My grandmother had a name for people like
the Republicans, it is called Mensch. (If
you do not know what it means, ask your
Jewish friends.)
So where did we stand now in American
politics. Nancy Pelosi with Sen. Charles
“Chuck” Schumer, bouncing around the podium
behind her, pumped fists and all, with a
smile on his face that you couldn’t rub off
with a steel brush, said now that we are
back in power we will do everything we can
to work with President Bush’s administration
for the good of the American people. My
question to you Nancy is where have you been
for the past six years?
Nancy, this is what I am going to do. I
will give you the benefit of the doubt, but
only this once. If I do not like what I see
in the coming months, you and the rest of
congress on both sides of the aisle are
going to hear a roar on Flag Day 2007 that
will shake you in your Manolo Blahniks.
That is my promise.
